After trying to talk to the creditors myself to explain my hardships
and getting nowhere and I decided to try "AmeriDebt" in February, 2000.
Exactly one year after I started with AmeriDebt, I looked at the credit
cards' total balance left and found that is was the same amount as when
I first started a year back. AmeriDebt did help in cutting down the
interest rates, sometimes up to 50%, but I needed more help, making
minimum payments to AmeriDebt was not the answer, I knew it was going
take many mores years than originally told. I started to lose faith
in the AmeriDebt program.
I went on the Internet to search for a company that could help me.
PBS stood out because somehow it sounded real, and not too-good-to-be-true
like other programs. I called the 1-800 #, and talked with one of the
consultants. The lady that I spoke with was really helpful and gave
me confidence in their ability to help me get out of debt. She took
time to explain everything and answered all my questions & concerns;
we kept touch by phone & e-mail regularly even before I became a client.
I must admit though, when the consultant first explained to me that
there was a fee to get stared, I sort of lost faith in the program because
I was afraid that it might be just another scam. However, through many
follow up conversations & e-mail with my consultant, I knew in my heart
that PBS is here to help ME. Unlike other companies, I didn't feel I
was forced or pressured at any time to sign up with the program. The
consultant helped explain the advantages of the program, what it can
do for me, and why this is a better option than bankruptcy. I thought
I could either take a risk right now and be out of debt this year, or
continue to make payments every month to AmeriDebt for the next 8-10
years.
My mom was the main account holder on most of the cards (we have 5
total) so I had to get her permission before I could sign up for the
program, having AmeriDebt let us down didn't help me convince her either.
After a week, my mom finally decided to give me another chance, this
time hopefully it'll work. To be honest, my mom thought it was worth
a shot even though she doubted it would work. We were at the end of
the road, so I looked at it as any try is better than no try at all.
When we first signed up with PBS in March, our consultant had said
that based on our situation we should be out of debt in 6-8 months.
I didn't quite believe her even though I tried to convince myself, we
all have to have hope, right?
As of today, it's been about 6 months since we signed on with PBS and
have 4 out of 5 cards paid off, thanks to the help of our negotiator.
We don't know how he did it, but we owed Fleet $3800 and were able to
settle it for $1,000. That is a saving of $2,800; we then paid a 25%
fee of $653.28 to PBS giving us a total savings of $2147. Another account,
Wards, we owed $1,400; PBS was able to reduced it down to $275, unbelievable!
I am so relieved and having so much confidence in life knowing we'll
be Debt-Free by year-end, (we have 1 more credit card left to pay off
and we're aiming for the next 2-3 months to settle it). Finally, I'm
going to be able to save some money up to send to my dad in Vietnam,
and that's a wonderful feeling
PBS's customer service is top notch, nice & pleasant people that make
me feel like I'm calling a friend or my coworker and not some company
out of California. My negotiator was a pleasure to work with, and helped
keep me up to date with the progress with the creditors. The thing I
like about him most was his honesty, say it flat out style.
He didn't try to convince me by making up little lies. He tells me
like it is, "Sorry Huy, GM Card is being hard at this time, they're
not going for any less." "Hey, good news, I got one more for you to
settle" etc. those are the things that as a client I would like to hear,
the honest truth, and this is what I got. Every time I had a question
or concern regarding my accounts, my negotiator was always there to
take the time to explain and go over things for me, even though he was
busy every time I called to speak to him.
Finally, for anyone out there that wants to be DEBT-FREE, I highly
recommend PBS, the #1 debt-help company. They helped me when I thought
I was at the end of the tunnel, so they can help you just as much if
not more. PBS is REAL, it's the only company that actually take sides
with you & helps you because they earn most their money through what
they save you. They take good care of you so that you can be DEBT-FREE
and live a better life, just like they did for my mom & me.
The thought of not having to write a check for my credit cards company
is just overwhelming, and I'm sure most of you would know what I'm talking
